Certified by the BKSA (British Kite Sports Association) and having trained through our own in-house program, our team has years of teaching experience, is excited to ride and are passionate about teaching people to join us. Started by Chris Burke in the spring of 2013 Poseidon Kiteschool came from 11 years of industry experience as a coach and international athlete.
Having started coaching watersports in 2002, Chris’s passion for kiteboarding led him to focus on teaching kitesports around the world for the next 11 years. Developing a unique teaching style and bringing numerous people into the sport, his skills were recognised by the BKSA and he was invited to become a national coach in 2008.
Having been noticed for his own riding skill along the way, Chris signed several sponsorship deals which led to a successful career as a professional athlete. Achieving international victories and press coverage across the kiteboard Industry, he went on to become an integral part of a Hawaiian kite brand’s design team before settling back in the UK to focus on Poseidon.
Currently sponsored by Ozone kites and AXIS boards, Chris is a valuable member of their team. When he’s not focused on heading things up at Poseidon, coaching, training new staff or planning the next adventure, he spends his down time scoping out new local spots to session.
